Shrooby Tuesday

So then, for another day another entry. It is another quiet one at work, hence the time to create another rambly type essay on what I have been up to. Or not up to as the case may be.

Yesterday I was so weary and couldn't be bothered with much. I got home, cooked tea (spag bol with quorn mince, a trusty favourite) and slobbed out rereading Pride & Prejudice. I'm at the bit where Lizzy is visiting Mr & Mrs Collins. She has just arrived and hasn't met lady Catherine yet. At the moment she hates Darcy with a passion and still likes Mr Wickham. Nick was watching that 'Age Swap' programme which had Peter Andre on it. Trash telly really. Molly was sick on the kitchen floor but only phlegm, I think there is probably a fur ball in there that needs to come out.

I got so engrossed in my book I didn't do any ironing or other housework, so that will be done tonight. Plus I've apparentely promised to cut Nick's hair. This is always a chore as I am very slow and particular about it, for fear of making him look mangy and lopsided.

I'm going for lunch with Rachel in an hour or so, to this cute little cafe, 'A Piece of Cake'. I am hoping for lemon or chocolate cake in particular. Then this afty I have a couple of viewings later on at a flat in town. Oh the excitement, I can hardly stand it.

I had an email yesterday out of the blue from a girl I knew many years ago. Pippa was a friend when I lived in Winchester in 1998. She was an interesting character as was a strict goth in every sense of the word. She lived & breathed goth culture and was only ever to be seen in black. Well we lost touch, as people do over the years and I think, if she is still quite gothic/fetishy then she might be a bit disappointed in me as I have mellowed at the edges since those days. I think as you get older you feel a bit foolish going out in public wearing PVC corsets and biker boots. Once I was past the age of 20 I just felt too old to get away with it. Also, I was never morbid enough to be a proper fully fledged gothling like her. It was more a case of hippy skirts and tie dye.

PS I have just added a link to my favourite website, b3ta. For hours of fun when you're bored at work, no need to thank me.
