Can an internet ameteur like me manage to follow simple instructions and end up with her own space on the web?

If so it must be fool proof.
The next question is, naturally enough, whether any else would be willing to read this. I think I can safely say that I don't think so. Which leads me on to the question, "is this whole thing pointless?"
